George Harrison Tribute

George Harrison was The Quiet One. The Shy One. The Serious One. The Sad One. Not a Lennon, not a McCartney. Not as famous songwriter as either.

Although he was the youngest Beatle he was the best and probably most talented guitarist in the band. He wrote songs like Something, Here Comes The Sun, If I Needed Someone, I Need You and probably the best known- All Things Must Pass.

Yet despite his musical talent Harrison, The Overshadowed one, never managed the same professional or public recognition as Lennon or McCartney...

The text above is a tribute to George. He would have celebrated his 66th birthday today. He died in 2001 of throat/lungs/brain cancer. It is likely that years of heavy smoking were a significant factor in his death.
But above all George will be remembered for his music. He once said:
Just take the music, the goodness, because it's the very best and it's the part I give most willingly.
